Mother Viola Williams-Ray born on January 6, 1922 to John and Fannie Marshall in Montgomery, AL. She accepted Christ at an early age.
Viola was a beautician for 57 years. She attended beauty classes in Chicago, Cincinnati and New York. She was a graduated of Besteda Beauty College in 1945. She also received a certificate in hair weaving and wig making in Jul of 1964.
Viola met and married her first husband, James S. Williams in July of 1943. They relocated to Akron, Ohio in 1953 where she started her own beauty salon, Powder Puff Beauty Salon. Viola was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and later People’s Baptist Church. She taught Sunday Scholl and served on the Missionary Board.
Viola married second husband, Luther Ray in January of 2007.
She is preceded in death by parents, John and Fannie Marshall; husbands, James S. Williams and Luther Ray; brothers, Mitchell, Peter, James and John Marshall; sister, Emma Pinkston, Fannie White, Rebecca Williams, Mamie Mack and Perry Marshall.
She leaves to cherish her memory all her family that were all dear to her and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; 2 god daughters and special friends.
