Betty Jean (Williams) Craig, daughter of the late Boyd G. Williams and Addie Simmons (Williams) was born on July 15, 1934, in Belton, South Carolina. Betty was the youngest of her four siblings.
Betty departed this life on September 7, 2021, to be with the Lord.

She was a “homebody” and loved being at home. Betty accepted the Lord at a young age at her home church, East Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Betty and her family moved to Cleveland when she was 8 years old. Betty attended Cleveland Public Schools and graduated from Central High. Betty started working for Milgrim’s Clothing store as a saleslady. Betty loved beauty, clothes, and being with family. Betty had a gift for making things pretty. She was always crafty with her hands, transforming things that were not so beautiful into something that is absolutely, gorgeous.

In 1952 Betty met the love of her life, Ulysses Craig. They married in 1956 and from this union they had two daughters, Joyce Ann Craig and Vicki D. Craig (Claytor). Betty was a stay-at-home mom until her daughters became of age and she became a working mom. Betty would put 100% into anything she did. She was a very good cook, a diligent worker, a loyal wife, a good friend, and a perfect role model. No one could ever say anything bad about Betty. Betty was a real woman. She stood for integrity and humbleness. She was a woman of class and always a lady. Her family was her life.

Betty was known for being the best dressed. Her hobbies were telling jokes and going to amusement parks. From time to time she would travel but did not like being away from home for very long.
Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ulysses Craig and sister, Prinsola Williams and grandson, Delano Craig.

She leaves to mourn her passing daughters, Joyce A. Craig and Vicki D. Craig (Claytor); son-in-law, Gregory Claytor; sister, Lavonia Williams and Eula Harris; sister-in-law, Vera Brown; nephew, Dr. Robert L. Harris; grandchildren, Siannole Claytor, Charrise Dowdeol, Gregory Claytor Jr. and Arrione Claytor; great-grandchildren, Ionaila Travore, Nathaniel Harris, London and Paris Claytor and Bleu Harris, and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.
