Naomi Ruth Wilborn departed her earthly home, at age 83, on February 2, 2022, at Akron General Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 3, 1939, in Lake Charles, Louisiana to the late Hazel Sander-Verdine and Dave Edwards.
Naomi relocated to Ohio as a young adult where she raised her children and became a long-time resident. She loved being surrounded by family, praising the Lord, fishing, and watching, Atlanta Housewives and the First 48. Her smile and spirit were infectious as she always had a slick comeback. She was the best cook and baker ever. She would share her spirit with everyone close to her and keep everyone fed. She will be immensely missed.
She is preceded in death by husband, Jimmy Lee Wilbron; parents, Hazel Sanders- Verdine and Dave Edwards; grandmother, Mary Sanders; sisters, Ruby Jean Verdine-Thomas and Litterine Frankie Edwards; brothers, Calvin A. Dunning and Garfield Verdine III; daughter, Hazel Renee Lee, and son, Anthony Tyrone Lee.
She leaves to cherish her memory daughters, Kimberly Lee (Akron), Linda Fender-Johnny (Akron), Marilyn Wilborn (Akron), Barbara Wilborn (Akron), Stephanie Murry (Akron); special daughter in law, Gail Walker (Akron); sons, Amin Rahieem (Akron), Royce Lee (Akron), and Steven Johnson (Akron); grandchildren, Jamie Lee –Elizabeth (Columbus), Myeashia Guice –Dontae ( Canton), Maureshia Guice-William Reynolds (Texas), Shannel Lee, (Akron), Herman Lee III (Akron), Amirah Rahieem (Akron), Nasirah Rahieem (Akron), Royce Lee Jr. (Akron), Jazmine Lee ( Akron), Charles Lewis (Akron), Latokia Lewis (Akron), Danyale Gray (Akron), Darsha Gray ( Akron), Cynthia Dunbar (Akron) and a host of great and great – great grandchildren.
