The world was blessed with LuRoy Sylvester Ferguson Jr on December 27, 1959 to LuRoy Sylvester Ferguson and Cordelia Mary Lee Bailey-Gregory in Akron, OH.
He graduated a proud Griffin from Buchtel High School and excelled in soccer, track and field among other extracurricular activities. He went on to work in finance and retired as a collection’s supervisor for MATCO tools.
LuRoy was a faithful servant to the Lord, his journey started as a member of Livingstone Apostolic Church, and he continued his love for Christ at Refuge Tabernacle where he became TRUSTEE Ferguson. Trustee Ferguson loved music and a good beat, he played congas and the beat machine every Sunday. His favorite past times included fishing, bike riding and watching any Ohio sports team. LuRoy was a commited family man and nothing meant more than to keep a smile on his family’s face, especially his grandchildren; Kamryn’Marie, LuRoy IV and Saage.
He was Preceded in death by his parents LuRoy and Cordelia, Sister Joan Payne and Brother Harlan Ferguson. He is survived by his sweetheart and beloved wife Rachel, children Christina (Howard) Jefferson, LuRoy S. (Sarah) Ferguson III and Tyler Robinson. Grandchildren Kamryn’Marie, LuRoy and Saage. Siblings Marita Palmer, Millicent Ferguson, Andre (Margie) Ferguson, Cleo (LaStar) Ferguson, Zenzele Stewart and a host of nieces and nephews . Special friends Robert & Sherry Wilson and Ivory Watson
