Sharon Lynn Washington Finney
Sharon Washington Finney answered the call from her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to come home from her earthly work to her place of rest on January 1, 2023, born on June 27, 1961, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Barbara Jean and Chester Washington Jr. Sharon accepted Christ in her life at an early age; attending church as a child, she came to know that Jesus Christ was her Rock.
She graduated from Akron South High School in 1980 and married the love of her life, Glen Finney. She went on to further her education in the field of cosmetology, receiving her certification as a Manicurist and ultimately becoming respected as one of Akron’s finest Nail Technicians. Proving that as a Lifelong Sickle Cell patient, she wasn’t going to let that monstrous illness win.
Sharon had many talents; her love for cooking kept many wondering what high-quality chef prepared the food they were tasting. Her love for making others happy kept her wanting to do for individuals just to see them smile. From putting together family gatherings, birthday parties, and family celebrations, her family was most beloved by her.
She loved to daydream. Out of her many hours of sitting still, she would have a vision that inspired her to come up with a plan to do what she loved best: get dressed and put a smile on someone’s face with her striking and exceptional fashion statements. Her smiles were impeccable, her hugs were infectious, and her wardrobe stood extraordinary from her head to her feet.
She was a loving wife, doting mother, loving stepmother, and grandmother, never giving up no matter what trials came her way. As the Matriarch of her family, she was always there asking God to show her way.
