Ruth E. Brown, affectionately called Me-Me, was born one of ten children to Alex Oliver and Ruth Williams, on March 3, 1931, in Montgomery, Alabama.
At the age of nineteen Ruth relocated to Akron, Ohio where she resided with her sister Motlene. God granted her a special maternal love which she willfully shared with any child she came across. Mother Brown was the Godmother of Vonetta, Katrina, Sheryl, and Holly. She embraced a second family Dr. Ilene and George Goldman of Arizona and their children Brett, Erin, and Adam.

After giving her life to the Lord Ruth became a long-standing member of the Living for Christ Ministries Inc. (Akron, Ohio) and earned the title of Mother Brown, under the leadership of the late Bishop Silas and Pastor Lately Johnson where she served faithfully. After forty years of faithful service to Living for Christ Mother Brown was prompted to assist Rev. Norman and Cynthia Taylor in the launch of their new ministry in Akron, Ohio. Mother Brown often reminisced about the good old days at Living for Christ Inc.
Mother Brown was well known for her compassionate heart and giving nature, she embodied the essence of a caregiver. No matter where she went, she never met a stranger and saturated everyone with love. She could always be found trying to find a way to help others.
