In Loving Memory of
Danny Ray Brock, (“OG”)
Sunrise October 2, 1957 – Sunset July 18, 2024
We gather to celebrate the life of our oldest sibling, Danny Ray Brock (aka “OG”). Danny’s life was characterized by a wealth of love, loyalty, and commitment to family and friends. Better known to most as Uncle, or “UNC” to the younger generation that he spent so much of his time sharing his life knowledge and world experiences with, in so many conversations over the years. Raised by his parents, Willie B. Brown and Annie Brown, in Reform, AL., Danny was the oldest of eight children. Throughout his life journey he overcame a lot of struggles, barriers and challenges. Through it all he showed tremendous courage, unwavering spirit, and signature truth-telling. Yes, those who knew him well will attest to the fact that Danny would tell you like it is.
Danny’s journey from the small town of Reform, AL, to his final residence in Akron, OH was further marked by an exceptional capacity to learn from life experiences, including mistakes, and taking a chance to travel the world living in several different states exploring the possibilities where others see obstacles. His adventures began immediately after graduating from Pickens County High school. He worked his entire career as a contractor, his on-the-job experience and life trade were taught under the leadership of his father. He was predeceased by his parents, Willie B. Brown and Annie Brown and two younger brothers Darren Brock and Willie Matthew Brock.
