Brother Jerry Muhammad Jr. was born March 7, 1959, in Akron Ohio to the late Jerry and Clara Dossie.
Jerry graduated from Buchtel High School and also received an associate’s degree in business management from the University of Akron. In April of 1992 under the guidance of Brother Stephen Mohammad, Jerry was accepted into the Nations Faith. Jerry’s lifetime goal was to honor his religion, be successful in his business and leave a legacy for his children and grandchildren. Family was his priority.
After ten years of working for Jumbo Ice Cream, under the guidance of his uncle Russell, Jerry started his own ice cream business and called it Fraquance World LLC, which operated until his health failed.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Clara Dossie, Lionel and Betty Beard, nephew Eddie Johnson and stepmother Roxanna Dossie.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Jeanette Muhammad; son, Sharief Muhammad; daughters, Jemella Muhammad (Sirajj Hale) and Natasha Quammie (Orlando); grandchildren, Zuri, Zayir, Hale, Karon, London and Orlando Jr.; brothers, Melvin Dossie, Alex Beard, Craig Johnson (Jeanine) and Darryl Johnson; sisters, Patricia Beard, Brenda Dossie (Charles Scott) and Yvette Dubose; special uncles, Russel (Sugar) Dossie, James Green, Adolph Person (Debbie) and Vernon Person and special aunt, Lavonne Person.
Jerry fought a good fight, he ran a good race, giving up was not an option, but on August 2, 2024, at 6:10 pm, he crossed the finish line, and the battle was over.
Friends may call on Monday, August 12, 2024, from 10:00 am until 10:30 am at Sommerville Funeral Services, 1695 Diagonal Rd. Akron, Oh 44320. Funeral service will immediately follow. Interment Greenlawn Cemetery.
