**Obituary for Elijah Demarion Jones**
Elijah Demarion Jones, born on March 9, 2004, in Akron, Ohio, was the third eldest of his siblings to parents Eric Jones and Brandie (Randy) Echols-Porterfield. From a young age, Elijah exemplified the qualities of an elder sibling, always expecting the best from his younger brothers and sisters. He was known for his playful spirit, often joking around and pulling pranks on his siblings—memories the family will forever cherish.
Elijah attended Towpath Trail High School. After leaving school, he found his dream job in construction, where he built and renovated homes in affluent areas. In his spare time, Elijah enjoyed listening to music, playing video games, and shooting hoops on the basketball court.
Elijah had a big heart, always willing to give his last to anyone in need. He loved spending time with his family and especially enjoyed dining on his favorite meal: salmon and Alfredo. From early childhood, Elijah had a confident and authoritative stride that left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
As a product of a family rooted in faith, Elijah maintained a close relationship with God throughout his life. He was a member of Living for Christ Ministries Inc. in Akron, Ohio, under the leadership of his grandparents, the late Bishop Silas and Lately Johnson. Known for his catchphrases, Elijah was affectionately nicknamed “Don’t Lack.” His presence was felt deeply by all who knew him, and he will be truly missed.
Elijah departed this earthly life on Saturday, August 10, 2024. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bishop Silas and Lately Johnson, his uncle Willie Johnson, and his cousin Caleb.
