Cynthia Gaiter, 68, passed away on February 15, 2025. She was born on December 8, 1956, and was a proud alumnus of Akron Public Schools. A beloved member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Cynthia lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charlie G. Gaiter; grandmothers, Eva L. Dorsey and Lue Ella Walker; grandfathers, Albert Dorsey and Joseph Gaiter; brother, Calvin Gaiter; grandson, Eric D. Gaiter Jr.; and nephew, Morris Gaiter Dossie.

Cynthia is survived by her devoted mother, Catherine Gaiter; two sons, Eric D. Gaiter Sr. and Andre L. Gaiter; siblings, Cornelia Gaiter, Charlie L. Gaiter(Christine), Clarice Murray, Charlene Gaiter- Dossie(Barnett), Carmilla Gaiter Carter(Don), and Carlos Gaiter; grandchildren, Javan Gaiter, Deshawn Cobb, Erica Gaiter, Nymir Harris, Israel Gaiter, Davonte Greer, Dallas Gaiter, August Gaiter; great-grandson, Eric D. Gaiter lll; goddaughter, Ayauna Edwards-Bush; extended families include the Mattison, Anderson, Townsend/Lee, and Singletary families. She had a deep connection with her best friends, Lillie Reed Crosby, Lisa Edwards, Shatoka, Kia, Natalie, Vicky and her extended card-playing family. Special people in Cynthia’s life included Roslyn Chambers, Dominique Grant and Roslyn Kidd and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Cynthia had a passion for attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, playing cards and bingo, getting her nails done, and indulging in lively gossip over the phone. She loved watching her favorite show Everybody Loves Raymond, sitting on her balcony, and enjoying some much-needed rest. Known for her fun-loving personality and candid nature, Cynthia had a knack for speaking her mind, even if it meant cursing people out when necessary.

She worked at the IBH Addiction Recovery for 18 years, touching the lives of many with her dedication and vibrant spirit. Cynthia lived a full, exciting life, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Friends may call on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon at Macedonia Baptist Church, 940 McKinley Ave. Akron, Oh 44306.
Funeral service will immediately follow. Internment Glendale Cemetery.
