In Loving Memory Of

Windell D. Hardison

Sunrise: August 24, 1992
Sunset: August 24, 2025

On August 24, 2025, the same day he first entered this world 33 years ago, our beloved Windell DarShawn Hardison transitioned from this life into eternal rest. Born on August 24, 1992, to Monica Bennett and Darnell Hardison.

Windell attended Akron Public Schools. He was a loving father, devoted son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, but above all, Windell was a man with a heart of gold. His spirit was generous, his love was genuine, and he was the kind of man who would give his very last if it meant helping someone else.
Windell’s journey was not without its hardships, but through it all, he remained a light—someone who knew how to uplift, encourage, and love unconditionally. To know him was to experience his kindness, his loyalty, and his unwavering commitment to family and friends.

He is preceded in death by great-grandmothers Maxine Young and Nellie Hardison; great-grandfathers, Jesse Bennett Sr. and Robert Hardison Sr.; grandmother, Melva Lee Hardison; grandfathers, Sam Hodoh and William (Bill) Powers; sisters, Desi Fissella and Vernell Corn; and brothers, Rashawn Bledsoe and Leo Hardison.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Ronnette Hardison; his precious children, Miylajah, Ronnell, Miyaire, and Ronnez Stallings; his grandmother, Meta Bennett; parents, Monica Bennett and Darnell Hardison; and stepmother, Alise Hardison, who played a very special part in Windell’s life. He will also be remembered dearly by his sisters, Nike, Maxine, Brooklyn, Tashella Bennett, Latoya Ware, Darnetta and Audrey (Ronnetta) Bledsoe; his brothers, Devin, D’moni, and Chanse Bennett, Dazzal Corn, Darnell Jr., Terrance, Jason, and Cleo Hardison, as well as Garland and Davion Toney—along with a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who loved him.

Though his time with us feels far too short, we honor the beautiful 33 years we were blessed to share with him. His laughter, his presence, and his love will echo in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Windell’s life reminds us to give freely, to love deeply, and to cherish every moment. As we celebrate his memory, we find peace in knowing that while his earthly journey has ended, his spirit lives on in each of us.
Rest well, Windell—you are loved beyond measure, and your legacy will forever remain.

Viewing will be held, Friday, September 5, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to noon, at Sommerville Funeral Services, 1695 Diagonal Road, Akron, Ohio 44320. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m.
