Margaret Louise Bell

Louise, born in Akron, Ohio on February 14, 1934, to William and Hensie Ella Malone was the eighth child of ten siblings. Louise attended Goodrich Elementary School and graduated from Garfield High School in 1952. As a child she attended Mount Olive Baptist Church. In later years, she joined First Apostolic Faith Church on Bellows Street, was baptized again and received the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Louise married the love of her life, Howard Cleveland Bell on July 12, 1952. Their union was blessed with 67 years of marriage. Cle and Louise were the proud parents of five children; Yolanda Linn, Howard Cleveland, Erika Lorette, William Christopher, and Robert Cle.

Louise, was a licensed realtor for over 30 years. She was hired by Akron Summit County Public Library April 1, 1956, and retired in 2012 with over 35 years of service as a Librarian. Louise, also worked for sixteen years, as a librarian at Schrop Jr High, Spring Hill Jr High and Springfield High School.

A dedicated member of First Apostolic Faith Church, she wore many hats and served in whatever capacity she could with joy. She sang in the senior choir, was a faithful usher for years and served as its President for ten years. Sister Bell taught in the Primary Department, completed “Teaching with Success” courses, and was then transferred to the Junior and Senior High Department where she taught until 1988. Sister Bell worked with the high school seniors for many years and established the following events: Senior High Graduation Banquet and The Senior High $250 Scholarship Award.

Elder Smith appointed Sis. Bell to be President of the young people who called themselves, The Ambassadors for Christ. Their theme scripture was “Pressing, pressing, pressing toward the mark” Philippians 3:14. Approximately 70 young people met every Friday evening. There were many “firsts” under the tenure of Louise Bell working with the Ambassadors for Christ: First Praise Dancers, monthly skating party, bus trips to Northern District Meetings and Ohio State Conventions, regular hiking and picnic events at parks, sledding during the winter, annual plays written and directed by Sis. Bell and performed by the Ambassadors, annual picnic and volleyball games and many fun gatherings at the home of Deacon and Sis. Bell.

Sister Bell was appointed by District Eld. Norman Wagner to be the Bible Quiz Director for the P.A.W. Northern District and served in this capacity for several years. Louise and Deacon Bell took their family to P.A.W. Annual conventions in various states and Deacon and Sis. Bell attended Mid-Winter Conventions.

In 1999, Sis Bell began coordinating Tours to Israel. This began her and Deacon Bell’s eight years of traveling along with other church members to Israel, Italy, the Isle of Patmos, Greece, France, Germany, Turkey, Damascus and Petra. Louise and Deacon Bell also cruised for twenty-one years.

Preceding her in the glorious transition of life to eternity are her parents, William Clarence and Hensie Ella Malone; siblings, Robert Lee Malone, Eleanor Frances Thomas, Howard Leslie Malone, Clifford David Malone, William Clarence (Buck) Malone, Ernest Westley Malone, James Albert (Claudie) Malone, Ralph Leroy Malone, and Edwin Paul Malone; great grandson, Derris Sheppard and her beloved husband, Howard Cleveland (Cle) Bell.

She leaves to cherish her memory, children, Yolanda Linn (Glenn) Loden, Howard Cleveland (Monica) Bell II, Erika Lorette Bell, William Christopher Bell, Robert Cle Bell; grandchildren, Ted Louis (Tamara) Sheppard, Allison (Jason) Roberts, Brandon David Sheppard, Jason Ryan (Blair) Sheppard, Howard Cleveland (Denise) Bell III, Ashley Elizabeth (Jonathan) Burgess, Alexis Yurie Bell; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; beloved daughter-in-law, Mayumi Hayashi Bell; sister-in-laws, Diane Malone and Honey Bell; special nephews, Raymond (Sandy) Thomas and David (Linda) Malone; nieces, Dr. Alicia Malone and Donzella (Tom) Anuszkiewiscz; god children, Prophetess Beverly A. Downs, Pastor Sharon Louise Hilton-McCladdie, and Cherelle Patrice Brooks and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, 11:00 am until 12:00 noon at First Apostolic Faith Church 790 Easter Avenue, Akron, OH 44307. Funeral service will immediately follow and will be lived streamed on First Apostolic Faith Church’s facebook and youtube page.
