William Charles Marsh Jr. “Chuck and Bill” 68, of Akron, OH passed away peacefully on February 6, 2020 after a long battle with cancer.
He was born on October 7, 1951 in Akron, OH to the union of William C. Marsh Sr. and Inez (Ponder) Marsh. We grew up at 464 Rhodes Ave., and the whole neighborhood, including Douglas, Edgewood, Bishop, Lillian, Bell St., Cedar St. all of the surrounding courts, Monroe, Chestnut, and even Wooster Ave! Those were days! And of course Perkins Woods, with Joe Cocomo! (Smile) All I can say is, we all had nice, clean fun!
William had such a passion for the game of tennis and was a good player, and also taught others how to play. He was also a referee for Junior and High Schools here in Akron and surrounding areas.
He is preceded in death by parents, William and Inez Marsh Sr.; brothers, Terry and Ronald Marsh.
He leaves to cherish his memory children, Charles Paris Arnold-Marsh and Vivian Arnold-Marsh; loving a devoted sister, Phyllis A. Marsh-Stanley; grandchildren, Mark Anthony Bailey, Cierra Inez Tate, Jordainea Hobbs and Malik Hart all of Denver, CO; very very special friend, Nancy and Leon of Columbus, OH. Dr. Leon Hughes and wife were (always) there for him, no matter what the situation.
