Edward Charles Worthy Sr., 60, was born in Akron, to the late Lieutenant (Luit) R. Sr. and Mary L. (Carter) Worthy on August 28,1959. Edward made his transition on June 22, 2020.
Eddie, as he was known to many, was a graduate of Buchtel High School, Eddie loved basketball and music and was good at both. He was a self-employee contractor and son/employee of Worthy & Sons’ Construction, which was founded by his late father, Luit Worthy Sr.
He was preceded in death by parents; brother, James Worthy; sister Eunice Worthy-Gross, brother-in-law George Lee and sister-in-law Irene Carter.
He leaves to cherish his memory ex-wife, Tiara; children, Edward Jr., Ashley and Charles (Chuck) Worthy; grandson, Zayne Edward Worthy; brothers, Luit Jr., Sam Carter, William (Dolly), David, Dennis, Donald (Jan), Ervin Darnell; sisters, O. Theresa Lee, Eula (James) Guess, Mary Worthy-Ewing, and Darlene Worthy; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives, whom he dearly loved.
“Though you have passed on, you are always in our hearts, and though we are not together we will never be apart. To lose you leaves such an empty space, our only consolation – you are in a better place. Put your arms around him lord and treasure him with care. For now, you have in your possession a man beyond compare.”
