Alfred Olethus Dawson was born September 30, 1930 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Philmore and Bessie (Shelton) Dawson. After the family moved to Akron, OH, Alfred attended Akron Public Schools.
Alfred met and married Shirley Lewis. In this union, they had 6 children.
He was employed at Narcissist’s construction company and retired in 1980. Alfred was employed as an independent contractor under the name Pyramid Home Improvement Construction Company.
Alfred accepted the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ into his life June 19th when he quoted the sinner’s prayer. Alfred departed his earthly life on Tuesday, August 20th after a lengthy illness.
Preceded in death by his parents; son, Baby Boy Dawson; grandson, Warren Dawson Jr.; sisters, Quintella Sledge and Elenora McClure.
He Leaves behind his faithful and dedicated wife, Shirley Dawson; children, Linda, William (JoAnn), Dianne, Warren, and Larry Dawson; grandchildren, Shirley, DeMar, Larry Jr, RayShaun, William Jr., Marcus, Victor, and Naiya; eight great-grandchildren; special cousin, Norma Spencer; brother-in-law, Matthew (Dehavlin) Lewis; sisters-in-law, Pauline ( James) Staples, Josephine Green, and Sheila Lewis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
