Annie Belle (Ann) Fitch, 82 passed away Sunday October 25, 2020. Ann was born in Yantley, Alabama on January 12, 1938. As a young adult, she attended beauty school in Cleveland, Ohio and received her cosmetology license which started a very successful business career. She began her career at Johnny Barham salon until she opened her first salon; Eastland Hair Fashion. Later she opened another salon Shear Pleasure all while holding a high ranking position as a Ohio state cosmetology Inspector for over 25 years, traveling all over Ohio and attending numerous conventions. If you were in the cosmetology business; you knew Ann Fitch! Ann retired as a state inspector and began her second career with Akron city school system as a crossing guard for the next 5 years.
Ann was a very active lady! She was an active member of Mt Zion church nurse ministry, a member of the Ohio Association (OAB); also known as the Glamorettes. Phoenix Chapter no 96 order of the Eastern Star; Al-Kaf Court no. 144, The Daughters of Isis, Heroines of Jericho Court No. 5 and Golgotha Guild No 5. In 2003, she was recognized by the National Beauty Culturalists League for her loyalty, service and faithfulness.
Preceded in death by her parents Willie and Virginia Fitch; her loving daughter Demetrius (Mickey) Bickerstaff, brothers Lee John (Hot Rod) Fitch, Willie (Buster) Fitch, James Fitch; sisters, Ada Stone, Lillian Townsend, Ruby Porter, Ruth (Tank) Clark, and Julia Hubbard.
She is survived by her brother Peter Fitch, granddaughters, Tenika Fitch, Dawn Bickerstaff, special great granddaughter Dominique Fitch and several other great grandchildren. Special nieces Barbara Haley and Dessie Townsend-Lee and a host of other family and friends.
