Annie Ruth Oliver, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, at the age of 80. Annie’s life was a testament to her compassionate spirit and unwavering dedication to family and faith.
Born to Jessie Ruth and Ezzie Oliver, Annie’s journey began with a strong foundation of love and family. Following graduation from the Saint Thomas School of Nursing, she embarked on a fulfilling career as a Licensed Practical Nurse, touching countless lives with her gentle care and unwavering compassion. Her dedication inspired many to pursue careers in nursing, a legacy that will continue to bless others for years to come.
Beyond her professional achievements, Annie found immense joy in simple pleasures. She cherished time spent with her loved ones, delighting in family gatherings and creating lasting memories. Her passions included shopping, traveling, and the thrill of the hunt at estate sales. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life; she was a devoted member of Mount Olive Baptist Church and found solace and community in her Bible studies.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Ruth and Ezzie Oliver; brothers, Willie and Harold Oliver; and her son, Robert Oliver. Her memory will be eternally cherished by her sons: Larry Oliver, Jeffery (Mindi) Oliver, and Michael (Tihida) Oliver; her brothers: Roger (Gwen) Oliver and Henry (Darlene) Oliver; six grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A woman of deep faith, unwavering compassion, and boundless love, Annie will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Friends may call Tuesday, April 15, 2025, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 1180 Slosson St, Akron, OH,. Funeral services will immediately follow at noon.
