Carol Lamoine Carter, age 73, was born December 7, 1953, in Akron, Ohio to the late Frederick Douglas and Merdis Carter. She departed her earthly home and entered the heavenly gates on February 10, 2026, after courageously battling a long illness.
Carol embraced life to the fullest with kindness, care and a generous spirt all accompanied with a keen sense of humor that was so quick, many would not recognize that they were often the center of her jokes. More than anything, she gave all that she could to those in need, those she loved until the very end.
An alum of South High School class of 1972, she was truly proud to have been educated in Akron Public Schools. Carol left Akron for California, later returning to working for Summit County Library and more recently as a Foster Grandparent where she loved, taught, and cared for beloved preschool children in the Head Start program. Her hobbies included going to the Casino, connecting with family members, watching soap operas and old movies.
A true believer in the Lord Savior Jesus Christ, Carol was a member of New Trinity Missionary Baptist Church under the Rev. Dr. Luther Johnson. The love of Christ sustained Carol through life’s mountain top and valley experiences; through it all she learned to trust and depend on GOD.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; sister Freddie May (Peggy) Carter-Peters; brother Robert (Johnny) Carter, special niece Tiffany Peters and longtime special friend Michael Senter. She leaves to mourn her loss, sister Ruby Carter (Mike) Knight of Las Vegas, Nevada; brother Gregg (Donna) Carter; loving nieces Felicia Renee House (Punkin); Sherry, Rena, Brenda and Robin; special nephews Ronnie Carter, Robert Carter II, and Robbie Peters; great nephew Brandon Peters; special cousin Yvonne Cowans and a host of other family and friends.
