Cecelia Louise Ponder made her transition to be with the Lord peacefully on Thursday, November 11, 2021. Cecelia was born on October 29, 1952, in Dayton, Ohio to the late Charles and Arnetta Reed.
Cecelia graduated from Dayton Dunbar High School in 1970. She also attended The University of Akron where she met her husband, Ron Ponder. Cecelia spent the majority of her career working in the medical field in private practice Doctor’s Offices and recently retired from Aultcare where she worked in medical insurance. She was also an integral partner in multiple family businesses.
Cecelia spent many years volunteering to assist in the coordination of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Roast. She served as the Director of Cheerleading for the Plain Local Youth Football League for many years where she devoted much of her time & love to the program and its participants. She also volunteered for the annual HBCU Classic Football Game and many other local volunteer organizations.
Above all, her proudest role was that of a loving and supportive Wife, Mother & Grandmother.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her husband of 45 years Ronald Ponder of Canton, Ohio; sons, Ronald Ponder II, Dexter (Caitlyn) Ponder; daughter, Briaunna (Anthony) Antoine; granddaughters, Rylee and Eryn Ponder. Siblings, Charles (Veda) Reed, Jr., Cynthia (Leon) Amos, Camellia (Dennis) Branch, and Carletta (Davis) Beard, Sr.; brother-in-law, Fred Ponder Jr.; sisters-in-law, Frances Boyer, Maria and Gisele Ponder; and many very special nieces, nephews, family, and friends, whom she loved dearly.
