Christina Jones affectionately known as “Tida” was born on July 28, 1938 in Wynne, Arkansas and the last child born to James and Rennie Mae Williams. She was proceeded in death by her parents and all of her siblings,Willmus, Leether, Isreal, Mitchell, Ozel, Arthur and Dora.
As a young child, Christina came to live in Akron, Ohio under the care of her eldest sister Leether. She attended Akron Public Schools and worked several jobs including TipTop laundry, Matthews Hotel and retired from Northcoast Behavior Healthcare as a Psychiatric Therapeutic Program Worker (TPW).
On January 10, 1960, Christina was united in Holy Matrimony to Willie A. Jones. She was a devoted, dedicated wife. Although she only birthed one daughter Nadijah, she was a mother to many. She often joked how she even won some of her nieces and nephew in a poker game from her brother in law.
Christina was a long time, faithful member of New Trinity Missionary Baptist Church where she served on the Mission team and assisted in the kitchen until her health failed.
In her spare time, Christina enjoyed visiting with family and friends who were sick and shut in. She loved going to “the slots” and the casino, store shopping and garage sales. Christina also had a great love for cooking and was known for her dressing, greens, fried chicken and lima beans.
Christina, well known for her kindness, sincerity and willingness to listen offered support to others in any way she could. Her bright smile and sense of humor brought joy to many. Family members described her as beautiful, loving, kind, funny, unfiltered, caring, smart, selfless, generous, wise, sensitive and most of all as a God fearing protector.
On November 10, 2022, Christina closed her eyes to join God, her siblings and other departed loved ones. She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 62 years, Willie Jones, her loving, devoted daughter Nadijah Jones (Robert Ford), nephew/brother Rev. Archie Parker (Sara), sister in love (law) Jean Sharon Jones (Winston Sanders), her bonus children Teressa, Diana, Milton Jr and Leether Greene, special friends Rosie Johnson, LaDora Thomas, Virginia Hopkins and a plethora of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who all had a special place in her heart.
