Crystal (Gardner) Henley, beloved daughter of God, peacefully entered her eternal rest on November 23, 2024. Born on February 14, 1960, in Man, West Virginia, she was the youngest of seven children born to the late Luther C. Senior and Lucile Henley.

Crystal spent her early years in Logan. Upon the family relocating to Akron, Ohio, Crystal graduated from Garfield High School. She pursued higher education at Kent State University, laying the foundation for a life dedicated to learning, hard work, and compassion. Later in life, Crystal made Houston, Texas, her home. She contributed to her community through her work at various organizations, including the University of Houston. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish her own transportation business, reflecting her passion for serving and helping others. Crystal was known for her generous heart, her love for people, and her unwavering commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of those around her.

Crystal was preceded in death by her parents, Luther C Senior. and Lucile Henley, her sister Brenda Bell, and her brother Charles Rox.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, held dear by her daughter, Diamond (Jason) Gardner Sosa, her treasured grandchildren, John, Jade, and her special grandson, Jayren. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings: Beatrice (Curtis) Mariner of Arizona; Edward (Thelma) Rox of California; Luther (Joann) Henley of Florida; and Luke (Yvonne) Henley of North Carolina. A host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and devoted childhood friends Jacqueline Jones Douglass and Renee Wilson will continue to celebrate her life and the impact she had on their hearts.

Though Crystal’s absence is deeply felt, her spirit will forever remain with those who knew and loved her. Rest in peace, Crystal. Your love and light will never fade.

Friends may call Thursday, December 19, 2024, 11 a.m. to noon. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m., at Sommerville Funeral Services, 1695 Diagonal Road, Akron, Ohio  44320.
