Donald Bruce Sommerville transitioned from this earthly home to be present with the Lord on October 18, 2020. He was blessed to be 87 years young. Donald was born to the late Wrenny Colvin and Johnnie May Sommerville.

Donald attended Akron Public Schools and graduated from East High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Airforce and came out with a honorable discharge. He worked at Chrysler for 43 years and retired in 2008. During his
time at Chrysler, he was blessed to make many lasting and loving friendships.

He met the love of his life, Janice and they were married 45 years. He accepted Christ at an early age and under the leadership of the late Bishop Robert D Bell, he was ordained as an deacon. Donald was preceded in death by his parents Wrenny Colvin and Johnnie May Sommerville, and brother Ronnel Colvin.

Donald leaves behind to cherish his memory, loving and devoted wife Janice, son Ranado Shingles, daughter Andrea Sommerville, brother Wenny (Retha) Colvin, Sister Michelle (Mike) Sales, brother-n-law Joe T (Sally) Sykes, sisters-n-law Hyloka (Otho) Bowe, Jonetta McClain, Donna (Nathaniel) Evans, grandchildren, Lavert Finney, Yasconi Shingles, Keith Sommerville, Marquis Lester, Jabryl Shingles, Ja’lai Shingles, the Late Bishop Robert D. Bell, 1O great grand children, 1O great great grand children, along with a host of nieces nephews and cousins.
