Mr. Floyd Eric LaShawn Thompson Jr. II, was born on June 29, 1970 in Akron, Ohio to the waiting, loving arms of Floyd Thompson Jr. and Suzan L. Thompson.  He transitioned this world on Wednesday, May 25, 2022.

Shawn, as his family affectionately called him, graduated from Firestone High School.  He loved living in Akron and resided there until his death.

He is survived by his children, Chantel Thompson, Shawntiana and Sharday Cody; mother, Suzan Thompson; sisters, Erica Shenene (Billy) Anderson and Ebony Sharmaine Thompson; five grandchildren, aunts and uncles and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Floyd Thompson Sr. and brother, Floyd Anthony Thompson; grandparents, Rice Lee Kirk, Mary Kirk, Floyd Thompson Sr. I and Elnora Thompson. Shawn was strong willed and dedicated to family and friends.  The beauty he found in his children is beyond words.  He found true pleasure in eating a good meal, listening to “his” music, and spending time with friends playing basketball.  You knew when he entered a room, he was loud with a big smile and generated
fun and love.  He was a friend and helping hand to all and will be sorely missed.

Let us rejoice and find comfort in knowing that he has moved on and take pleasure that he is in a much better place with our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Funeral service will be held at 1pm on Friday, June 10, 2022 at Sommerville Funeral Services. Friends may call the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Friday. Live Streaming will be available here on our website.
