In Loving Memory of Frances Ponder-Boyer-
Frances Ponder-Boyer was born on February 7, 1953, and passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024, at Glenwood Care Center following a courageous battle with multiple sclerosis.
A graduate of Akron South High School and an attendee of Kent State University, Frances was employed at Rolling Acres Mall first as a long-time employee of JC Penney and then Osterman Jewelers where her radiant smile outshined the most exquisite diamond. Frances attended The House of the Lord where she was baptized.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Mildred (Allgood) Ponder and Fred Ponder Sr., her brother Eddie Ponder, sister-in-law Cecelia Ponder and her beloved niece, Mauri Peoples.
Frances is survived by her pride and joy- her son Johnnie Boyer III and cherished granddaughters, Jade (Isaiah) Calhoun and Autumn Boyer. Her siblings Fred Ponder, Ronald Ponder and Maria Ponder-Peoples; Sister in laws, Gisele Ponder, Ethel Ponder, Michelle Butts, Cheri Oliver as well as special friends Pat Mellon, Dorothy Searcy and Art Lee. Former husband Johnnie Boyer Jr, Great Aunt Frances Stevens as well as a host of Nieces, Nephews all mourning the loss.
Her family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Jasmine Davis and Timiekka Everett for their continual care and love while a resident at Glenwood Care center and express their thanks to the wonderful staff for their compassionate care.
Frances will be remembered for her radiant smile, which lit up every room she entered, and her unwavering love for her family and friends.
