Frank Terrell was born in Alliance, Ohio, onDecember 11, 1944 to the union of Agnew and Julia Terrell. He was called hometo be with the Lord on Thursday January 7, 2021 at the age of 76.
Frank was raised in Alliance and graduatedfrom Alliance High School in 1963. On February 22, 1964 at the tender age of19, he joined Donnetta Phillips in holy matrimony. Together they raisedfour children. They were married for 36 years until her passing.
Frank met Sharon Lightner at Triumph theChurch and Kingdom of God in Christ in Alliance, Ohio. After a whirlwindromance and short engagement, they were joined in holy matrimony on December26, 2000, and recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary. Thisunion produced a blended family of five children.
Frank worked at General Motors for 41 yearsbefore retiring. He loved sports and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. He alsoloved doing crossword puzzles, fishing, gardening, watching game shows andwesterns. His entire family was his pride and joy. He was a great supporter ofhis children and grandchildren and would travel near and far to be at all theiractivities and major accomplishments. Although his children were the apple ofhis eye, his grandchildren brought him much joy. He enjoyed talking to his youngestgrandson Komar several times a day, discussing sports, political events, andschool.
Frank was a faithful member of Triumph theChurch and Kingdom of God in Christ where he was an usher, manager andsupporter. He loved his church family. Frank and Sharon loved to travel togetherand spend time with their grandchildren.
Frank was preceded in death by his mother,Julia (Vida) McElroy; his father and stepmother, Agnew and Louise Terrell, hisfirst wife, Donnetta Terrell, brother, Claude Terrell; sister, Amanda Pugh;daughter, Latonia Hancock and son, Daryl Ledford Sr.
Frank leaves to celebrate his life and legacyhis wife, Sharon Ann Terrell along with four children, Denise Smith (Mark),LaToya Ashe’, Frank Terrell Jr., and LaJuan Lightner, his grandchildren, BrookeBranson, Kynnedy Smith, Mark Smith Jr., Anthony Smith (Kayla), MarquiseLedford, Jeri Ledford, Jerina Hancock, Daryl Ledford Jr., Gregory Ledford,Keyona Ashe’, Komar Redding, Ka’mel Cooper and one great-granddaughter, MayaLouise Smith; his siblings, Fred Terrell, George Holloway (Tina), JamesMcElroy, Bernard McElroy Jr. (Cheryl) and Margo Johnson, and a host of nieces,nephews, family and friends.
