Geraldine Jones (Gerri), 79 years old of Akron, Ohio was escorted to heaven on January 4, 2023, from health complications. She was born on June 2, 1943, in Birmingham, Alabama to her parents Reverend David Lee Jones Sr. A graduate of Daniel Payne College (Degree in Ministry), and Viola Jones, devout woman of God and scripture. Gerri accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior as a small child and was baptized at 31st Street Baptist Church Birmingham, AL. She married Floyd Randle at the age of 18 and became the beloved mother of 4 children: Victoria, Floyd, Tonya, and Santana Randle. Geraldine and her family migrated to Akron, Ohio in 1967. She joined Macedonia Baptist Church under Pastor Frank A. Williams who baptized all her children. During her life she worked as The EKG Supervisor at St. Thomas Hospital, Intake Recorder at The Akron Red Cross, and Secretary on 3 West at Cuyahoga Falls General, now Western Reserve Hospital. Geraldine was an Eastern Star. She was a brilliant individual whose intelligence was incredibly sharp. Discerning to the bone is how many people would describe her, as she had very deep intuition. Her church and family watched her master mountains and make it out of valleys through the vehicle of daily prayer. No matter what season of life Gerri was in she started every day in her closet of prayer. She taught her family how to pray and the importance of faith and prayer. Her favorite movie was The Greatest Story Ever Told.

She had the most beautiful smile and class. Gerri was not timid in speaking her mind and at times was incredibly humorous. She loved to laugh and believed it was medicine to the soul. Geraldine was a very practical person as well as spiritual. She was very generous and loving; however, she could be feisty if the situation called for it. In her elderly years she visited Arlington Church of God where she had several friends who are members there.
