Gregory Quenton Harrison

Sunrise: September 14, 1986
Sunset: February 15, 2024

Gregory Quenton Harrison, affectionately known to most as “Q” was born September 14, 1986, at Darnell Army Hospital in Ft. Hood, Texas.  “Q” was an avid reader, gifted writer, self-taught artist and an advocate for social justice. He was a selfless, and self-determined person.

After a courageous 37-year battle with Sickle Cell Anemia, Quenton was called to eternal rest.  “Q” was quick-witted and always ready to offer you his opinion, no matter what subject or how wrong he was, he had an opinion. To best describe Quenton and how he viewed life, his mother once apologized to him for his parents passing the Sickle Cell gene to him which caused him to be in so much pain. Quenton’s response to his mom was: “Mom pain is all I know, so how can I miss or be sad about something I never had? I’m good”. This was the courage in which “Q” faced the reality of life and despite his many challenges, he continued to live it to the fullest. Quenton’s journey through life is exemplified by the African Proverb “It takes a village to raise a child.” Quenton was blessed to have an incredible village of family, friends and people who loved him unconditionally.
