Icey Mae Gulley, 87, gained her heavenly wings on April 8, 2023. Icey was born June 20, 1935, in Columbus, Mississippi to Arie and Roy Henry. In 1945, the family moved to Akron, Ohio. Icey grew up in a religious home with her father being a Reverend and mother, the first lady of the church. Along with her parents she is one of the founding members of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. Icey Joined Jerusalem in 1957, and was a faithful member for 66yrs.
Icey was the mother of two children, Lynda M. Henry and Leonard B. Brown. She worked many years and retired from the State of Ohio as a Case Worker. After retirement she took on a couple hobbies, working in Senior Services and being a private childcare provider. Icey loved gospel music, watching movies, good meals, shopping, using her seamstress skills, and most of all family gathering.
Icey was proceeded in death by; her father, Roy Henry and mother ,Arie M Henry; daughter ,Lynda M. Henry; son, Leonard B. Brown; and Special friend, Gregory Calhoun.
She leaves to cherish her memory; sister, Willa Kenny; stepdaughter, Jacqueline Parks; grandsons, Arrian Henry (Relina), Damion Roberts; granddaughters, Patrice Borum, Yolanda Phillips, Leonda Phillips, Krystal Phillips, and Candace Williams (Desmond); and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
