Jadako Taylor passed away on March 22, 2025.

Jadako “EJ” Taylor was a light in this world, a soul filled with love, laughter, and boundless dreams. Born on April 16, 2012, to his devoted mother, Taylor Fannin, he entered the world as a perfect and beautiful gift. From the moment he opened his dreamy eyes, he was adored, cherished, and surrounded by a family that nurtured him with unconditional love. His smile could brighten even the darkest days, and his presence was a source of pure joy.

From an early age, Jadako’s personality shone through. He was stylish, charismatic, and full of charm. A true “name brandy kid,” he knew what he liked and wasn’t afraid to claim it—whether it was his favorite Polo shirts or his love for music, football, and video games. His competitive spirit made him a force to be reckoned with, whether he was playing Madden, 2K, Call of Duty, or rapping in friendly battles with his brothers. His passion for music, especially Kendrick Lamar, was undeniable—he made sure everyone around him knew the lyrics to DAMN.

Jadako was a dedicated athlete, playing football for the Sim Raiders and the Akron Titans, earning two awards in his short but accomplished time on the field. He carried that same passion into his academics, forming deep bonds with friends and teachers at Noble Academy in Euclid, Ohio, and later attending Case Preparatory Academy with big dreams of one day becoming a student at Archbishop Hoban High School. He was intelligent, driven, and had a vision for his future, one where he would make it to the NFL and continue to provide for those he loved.

Beyond the field and the classroom, Jadako was a young entrepreneur. For Christmas, he and his brothers received the gift of a lifetime—an e-commerce business. Taking on the role of Financial Analyst Executive, he embraced it with enthusiasm, researching ways to expand the brand, calling family for support, and seeking out books to learn more. His determination and business mindset were far beyond his years, proving that he was destined for greatness in whatever path he chose.

He treasured his family above all. He was the big brother to Jelani, Xavion, and Kaiden, but in his heart, his family extended far beyond blood. He carried a deep love for his time in New York, especially in Far Rockaway with his Honey and friend Saleem, and he never missed an opportunity to enjoy moments with his loved ones. From making apple crisp with Stephanie to laughing with his cousins, his spirit was one of warmth, connection, and a desire to lift up those around him.

Jadako was preceded in his journey by his father, Xavier, his grandmother, Michelle, and his aunt, Tanesha. He leaves behind a family who will forever carry his memory: his mothers, Taylor and Stephanie; his brothers, Xavier, Jelani, Xavion, and Kaiden; his sisters, Terri, Antinya, and Joelle; his niece, Sekani; his grandmothers, Kenyada and Orvis; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends who were blessed to know him.

Though his time on Earth was brief, Jadako’s impact was immeasurable. His dreams, his laughter, and his love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Rest in power, EJ—your story will never be forgotten.

Viewing will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Sommerville Funeral Services, 1695 Diagonal Rd. Akron, Oh 44320. Funeral service will immediately follow.
