Sunset: November 12, 2025

James Lee Hunt Jr. was born on April 20, 1968, in Akron, Ohio to parents, James and the late Cheryl Crockett Hunt Lewis. From a young age, he displayed a vibrant spirit, a kind heart, and a natural ability to bring joy to those around him. Whether it was his infectious laughter, his caring nature, or his ability to turn any moment into a cherished memory, he was a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He attended Buchtel High School and graduated in 1986, where he excelled academically and built lifelong friendships. After graduation, he joined the United States Army Infantry. He then moved to AZ and attended Phoenix Institute of Technology in Phoenix, AZ. He graduated and returned home to Akron, OH and later moved to Greenville, SC in 2008 to pursue his Electrical Tech career.

A hardworking and ambitious individual, he pursued a career as an Electrical Robotics Tech, where his dedication and passion left a lasting impact on colleagues and coworkers alike. He was deeply committed to his work, always striving to make a difference and leave a positive mark on the world.

Beyond his professional achievements, James Hunt Jr. was a man of many passions. He found joy in watching sports, cooking and spending time with friends, and he was always eager to share his talents with those around him.

He is survived by his children; son, James M. Hunt of Baltimore, MD, daughters Leah Hunt of Atlanta, GA, and Natasia Hunt of MS; grandchildren, Jameson Hunt and Landen Timmons; father, James Hunt Sr.; sister, Julie Hunt; brother, Michael Hunt and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cheryl Crockett Hunt Lewis; brother, Martin Hunt; sisters, Hattie Hunt and Louise Hunt, whom we take comfort in knowing welcomed him with open arms.

Though the pain of his loss is overwhelming, we find solace in the memories he left behind. His spirit will live on in every shared story, every echo of laughter, and every act of love inspired by his example. We will forever carry him in our hearts.

Visitation Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 11:00 am until 12:00 noon at The Light Church, 980 Rhodes Ave. Akron, Oh 44307. Memorial service will immediately follow.
