Jerome “Joe” Stokes, 59, passed away January 17, 2023. He was born on October 17, 1963, in Newark, New Jersey to Henry and Geneva Stokes.
Jerome was a lifetime resident of Akron, OH and graduated from Kenmore High Schoo ad went on to study at The University of Akron. Jerome accepted Christ in his life, he enjoyed sports, music, playing chess, cards, pool, barbecuing and being surrounded by family and friends. Jerome will be missed and will be in our hearts for eternity.
Jerome was proceeded in death by parents, Geneva Gray Stokes and Henry Edward Stokes and great grandmother, Mary Sam Gray.
He leaves to cherish his memory, wife and long-time friend, Kimberly Stokes; loving daughters, Shaniece Stokes, Shawnta (Brandon) Daniels and Shaqueta (Andre) Copeland; grandchildren, Deontay Travis, Davon Daniels, Breasia Daniels, Dylan Copeland, S’Marah Copeland, Andre Copeland Jr., Sa’Rahbi Copeland, Sa’Kovia Copeland and Damere Stokes; siblings, Oneida (Lee) Clay, Regina (Donald) Martin, Mark (Shakira) Stokes and Todd Stokes; special friend, Dwayne “Dewey” Lopp and special cousin, William Phillips; aunts and uncles who encouraged and supported him during his life. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whose lives have been touched by Jerome’s sense of humor and hospitality.
