Joanne Scott gained her wings on January 10, 2026, at Akron City Summa Hospital after a brief illness. Joanne was born in Akron, Ohio, to parents Rosie (John) Davis and Frank Stallings. She grew up in North Akron, went through the APS school system, and graduated from North High School in 1963.

Over the decades She was a mixologist forming lifetime bonds and friendships. While she was here There was nothing she loved more than shopping with family and catching a good sale.

She was loved by many whether you knew her as Jo, Joanne, Ma, Mom, Nana, or Aunt Joanne. She would make everyone smile with her infectious laugh and talking crap she left a lasting impression on whoever she met she will truly be missed.

Joanne was preceded in death by Her Mother Rosie (John) Davis, Father Frank Stallings; brothers, Alvin (Francis)Stallings, Donald Stallings; sisters, Yvonne (ML)Myers, LaDoska, Barbra Jean, Gloria Rutledge Patty Burks, Life partner Joe Burks, and Good grandson Toriano.

Leaving behind children Roseanna (Tweety) Connelly, Abdul (Rashi)(Jacqueta)Scott, Dion Scott, Tori Hopson, and Tracy (Nichole)Hopson.

Grandchildren Emmir (Khamiyia) Connelly, Lou Willis II, Dion Scott, Amir Scott, Tionna Scott, Jayla Scott, Jamiah Scott, and Dionna Scott. Good Grandkids Torika Hopson, Torrell Hopson, Torquan Hopson, Torrod Hopson Sister Mary (Edwin)Hopson Special Friends Sandy James, Thomas James, Cilla (Noonie) Spears, Special Cousin Kenny Scheeler, Special niece Donja (Darnell)Evans, and a host of great-grandchildren and cousins.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 12:00 noon at Sommerville Funeral Services, 1695 Diagonal Rd. Akron, Oh 44320.
