John Alexander Paxton was born March 8, 1927 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and passed away on December 26, 2020.
John was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy. He attended North High School, Akron, Oh. Mr. Paxton retired as a Foreman from General Tire and Rubber Company. He was also employed by Akron Children Hospital and Loral Systems, a section of Goodyear Aerospace.
John was a vocalist and loved music. In his younger days, he sang at many local clubs and during his military service, he had the honor of performing with the Vienna Boys’ Choir of Austria. He had an extensive record collection, some of which he donated to the University of Akron. Mr. Paxton was also a member of the V.F.W., American Legion, U.A.W. and the Al-kaf Motor Patrol.
Mr. Paxton is preceded in death by his parents, Melzola Paxton-Weeks and Raymond Paxton.
He is survived by his children, Laurence Paxton of Mendon, Vermont, John Paxton of Akron, Ohio and Carlesa Paxton of Lithonia, Georgia; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
