Joyce Tracy, 73, a beloved resident of Akron, Ohio, earned her wings and departed from this world on January 21, 2024. Born on September 22, 1950, Joyce’s journey was one of love, generosity, and a genuine spirit that touched the hearts of all who knew her.
A proud graduate of Garfield High School in 1969, Joyce embraced her hometown roots, becoming a fixture in the Akron community throughout her entire life. For over a decade, she dedicated her time and efforts as a custodial worker at ADM, leaving a lasting impact on those around her.
Joyce’s warm heart and generosity touched everyone around her. Her love for shopping was well known by those who knew her best, this was her way of finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her beauty, radiated from the kindness she extended to everyone she met.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Juanita and John Hammett, and her brother Michael Tracy. She leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of her surviving family: sister, Sharon Tracy; nieces, Genevia Mitchell, Nicole Tracy, and Tamica Grant; great nieces and nephews, Carina Mitchell, Ronnell Mitchell Jr, DeVonta Lash, Demetrius Lash, Charisma Lash, Diamond Lash, Marnica Watson, Marqui Owens Jr, Ivy Harlow, Ezra, Victoria, and her lifelong companion Kennedy.
