J’vier Dae’Shaun Gaffney, born on November 23, 1994, in Akron, Ohio, to Tina Jeffery and Robert Gaffney, gained his wings on November 24, 2024. His passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of his family and loved ones.

J’vier accepted Christ at an early age, a foundation that guided his life and values. A graduate of Job Corps in 2013, he pursued a career by earning his commercial driver’s license (CDL) shortly after graduation. He was an optimistic and devoted man who loved the Baltimore Ravens and all things sports.

J’vier’s love for his family and friends was unmatched. He had an incredible ability to bring people together, always the life of the party with a smile so contagious it could brighten even the darkest corners of life. His presence lit up every room he entered, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.

J’vier is preceded in death by his father, Robert Gaffney; his grandmother, Linda Gaffney; and his uncles, Jeremiah Jeffery and Joey Gaffney.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Tina Jeffery; his devoted brothers, Norman (Marshaya) Taylore, Jajor Varner, Isiah Varner, Quaisha Varner, and Devontiere Brown; his fiancée, Taknesha Vaughn; and his beloved daughter, Tayleigh Vaughn. He is also survived by his grandparents, Beverly Jeffery and Dewayne Heggie, along with a host of other relatives, friends, and loved ones who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

J’vier’s light will continue to shine through the memories and love he shared. Though his time with us was far too short, the impact of his kindness, joy, and unwavering love will be felt for generations to come.

Friends may call Friday, December 6, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to noon at Sommerville Funeral Services, 1695 Diagonal Road, Akron, Ohio  44320. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m.
