Khalilah was born in Toledo, OH on February 14, 1978. She lived most of her life in Akron, OH, and graduated from Firestone High School in 1996. She attended Arizona Western University. She loved working in the service industry. She loved books, movies, and music. Khalilah was well known in her circle of family and friends as the resident movie and music critic. She often shared her commentary not only on movies and music but the performances of the actors and musicians. Khalilah is also known for her infamous annual Oscar parties.

Khalilah is survived by her beautiful daughter, Moxxi Rose Buckner; life partner, Chris Lytle; her beloved niece Syan Janae Rankins; mother, Rebecca Pickings; father, Ronald Pickings; stepmothers, Lorri Harris and Naima Mateen Pickings; brother, Keyamonte Pickings and preceded in death by her sister, Zuri Pickings. She was a true friend to many people and leaves behind a host of family and friends who will miss her presence.
