Larry, born February 22, 1951, was raised in east Akron; where he was well liked by many and worked in the Portis Brothers Store. In his high school years, he graduated from East High School where he enjoyed competing in wrestling tournaments, which landed him in the state finals. He served our country for 7 years where he received an honorary discharge in 1980. While in the service Larry mastered in communications.

Later in life, Larry met the love of his life Joanne, and shortly after, knew he would devote the rest of his life to her. Their 41 year commitment has been rewarding by raising their children, grandchildren, foster children, childcare children, and neighborhood children. They did all this together, while Larry stayed gainfully employed managing at Midas Muffler for 28 years, and later retiring with 10 years of service with Metro RTA.

You can always catch Larry cracking a joke, hand dancing, and spending time with his wife and family. He was a great role model for young and old, who instilled positive values and examples of excellence.
