Lawrence Lyn Holly was born on November 29, 1960, to the union of Luther J. Holly and Rosie Holly at Barberton Citizens Hospital.
He was born into a large family and was the 9th child of 14. Lawrence was a lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio and attended South High School. Lawrence transitioned peacefully at his home on March 12, 2022, after a brief illness. Lawrence was a highly intelligent man and will probably be mostly remembered for his caring heart and fun personality.
Lawrence worked as a Caregiver for many years and spent most of his days caring for others, whether it be taking out trash for the neighbors, sitting with his brother-in-law, or walking his niece’s dog “Stryyka”. No task was too big or too small for “Uncle Manna”. Lawrence lived life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Rosie Holly; brothers, Luther Holly Jr., Earl Howard Jr, Walter Holly, Benjamin Holly and Edward Holly.
He is survived by brothers, Frank Holly, Jeffrey Holly, James Holly and Eugene Holly; sisters, Josephine (Eddie Sr.) Patten, Sharon (Willie) Howard, Marilyn Hayward and Margueritea (Gregory) Dixon and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to give a special thanks to his friends Corrie Sharpe, Theodore Moore and Billy who took very good care of Lawrence until the end. Lawrence Lynn Holly has “Gone On Down The Road”.
