Lonnie “Hawk” Atkinson Jr passed away on June 16, 2024, after a long battle with illness.

He is preceded in death by wife, Imogene; son, Lonnie III; father, Lonnie Sr.; stepmother, Odessa; mother, Dorothy Couch; sisters, Gloria Woods and Dianne and granddaughter, Lonnie Marie Martin.

He is survived by daughters, Shamara and Patricia Merryweather; siblings, Ronnie Hicks and Wanda Yates; grandchildren, Leland Merryweather, Lamar Taylor, Chevonne Smith, Brian Taylor, Lonnie IV, and Erique and several beloved great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
