Lucy Threatt departed this life to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, she was 93. She was born on November 25, 1929, to the union of Alexander and Cornelia Dillard.
Lucy accepted Christ at an early age and, as a child she attended Bethlehem Baptist Church in Courtland, Alabama.
Lucy was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family and dedicated her life to her home and family’s needs. She focused her skills and abilities to assure her children excelled in school. She also cared for those in need and often donated food to the churches and food banks.
Lucy was a Godly Christian woman who was kind, generous, and loved everyone. She was also a wonderful encourager. If you needed encouragement, she would quote her favorite scripture (Hebrew 13:5) “God will never leave you nor forsake you”. She is preceded in death by parents; husband; Roosevelt Threatt, brother; Percy Lee Ashford. Daughter; Linda Dillard, son; Rayfield Dillard, and sister; Rosie Lee Hunter.
Left to cherish the memories of Lucy Threatt and her steadfast love are her children, Stephanie Threatt, Patrick Threatt, Mark Threatt, Peter Threatt, Amanda Threatt, Caroline Elson Threatt and Phillip Threatt. Her grandchildren, Share’e Threatt, Devon Darby, Tyrell Threatt, Dayvonte Threatt Great grandchildren and her niece. Her friend Deborah Williams Nganga and family.
Life will not be the same without you, Mom. We will miss you and never forget we love you. Your passing has left a huge void, you have been our rock. You have laid the foundation and set the example of what it means to be the family MATRIARCH. We will miss your spirit. We will miss our daily talks, your great advice, and wonderful wisdom. Most of all we will miss hearing your voice.
Your life has a legacy that will help us through our sadness and will give us courage to live on with all the fond memories left behind. We love you and you will remain in our hearts.
