In Loving Memory of Monica Kitt Miller
March 4, 1969 – July 2, 2025
Monica Kitt Miller, age 56, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on July 2, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on March 4, 1969, in Akron, Ohio, Monica was a lifelong resident of the city and a proud graduate of John R. Buchtel High School.
Monica dedicated 33 years of compassionate service as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Arbors at Fairlawn. Her love for nursing was more than a profession—it was a calling. She cared deeply for others and took great pride in the impact she made in the lives of her patients and their families.
Rooted deeply in her faith, Monica trusted in God’s saving grace and mercy, which sustained and extended her life well beyond her doctors’ expectations. Her unwavering spirit and quiet strength were a testimony to all who knew her.
Monica was a loving companion, devoted mother, and doting grandmother. She had a passion for music, cooking, and spending time with family. Her home-cooked meals, especially her barbecues, brought joy and comfort to many. She will be remembered not only for her talents in the kitchen but also for her warm heart and generous spirit.
Monica was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Ertha Mae and Clarence Miller Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted life partner for over 18 years, Anthony D. Cheatham; her beloved sons, Cameron C. Miller and Anthony Tra’von Cheatham; her loving sister, Makeba Miller; her brother, Jason Miller; and three adored grandchildren, Meleah, Cartier, and Cameron and, their mother Melicia Keys, all of Akron; niece, Genesis; nephews, Nigel, James and Mark.
Monica’s life was one of service, love, and faith. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
