Takisha Erin Jones was born in Akron, Ohio on August 6, 1977, to Fred Jones, Jr. and Katherine S. Jones. Takisha was educated in the Akron Public Schools and graduated from East High school in 1995. She was a member of the East Orientals cheerleading team.
During high school Takisha received the Senior Activities Committee Award and the Student Council 3 Year Award. In 1995, Takisha received the Mayor’s Community Service Award signed by Mayor Don Plusquellic and a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from Congressman Tom Sawyer. After high school Takisha attended The University of Akron and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2000.
Takisha joined Progressive Insurance Company in 2002. Her first role was in the Claims division where she traveled to many cities and assisted victims of storm disasters. She was later promoted to Process Consultant with the Customer Assistance Team. She attained her final position in 2018, when she moved to the Customer Experience Team.
Takisha loved to travel and enjoyed music and concerts. She loved college football and was an Ohio State football fan.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Fred and Ruth Jones; sister, Jocelyn D. Williams.
Takisha is survived by her son, Dierre Jones; father, Fred Jones, Jr. (Jeannette H. Jones); stepmother, Vicky Richardson; sister, Candace B. Jones; stepsister, Rhea Richardson; stepbrothers, Anthony Roper and Derrick Roper; aunt, Marilyn Jones; brother-in-law Corey Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
