Paul Robinson, 99, of Akron, Ohio passed away peacefully on January 27, 2024.
Born in Lovingston, Virginia on April 11, 1924, Paul proudly served his country during WWW II as a corporal in the United States Army stationed in Germany, France, and Italy. After returning home, Paul left Virginia and moved to Akron, Ohio where he met his wife of 54 years Minnie Mae Foster. He retired after 40 years of service at B.F. Goodrich in 1986 never missing a day of work outside of a union strike. Paul continued to work his side jobs full-time until permanently retiring in 2001. He loved tending to his garden that he called “The Ponderosa” where he grew his famous tomatoes and could often be found grilling or landscaping. His strong faith in God was rewarded with a long, healthy, and productive life.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Robinson; brothers, Massie, James, Samuel, Silas, Joseph, Willie Bright, David; sisters, Mary and Grace; brother-in-law, James Gerald; nephews, Herman Hunt and Silas Robinson Jr. and his devoted wife, Minnie Mae Robinson and grandson, Shane Robinson.
He leaves to mourn his passing, son, Daryl (Carmen) Robinson; granddaughter, Nina Sky Robinson; sister, Yvonne Gerald; special nephews, James Hunt, Robert Hunt, and Robert E. Linear Jr.; devoted nieces, Prophetess/Evangelist Mary Linear, Yvette Merritt, Julie Hunt, Mary Linear, Antionette (Michael) Bobb, Barbara Linear and Tiffany (Theo) Terrel; cousins, E. Darnell (Vickie) King, Felicia Sewell and Jeremy (Jasmine) King and a host of other friends and family.
Friends may call on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, from 11:00 am until 12:00 at Sommerville Funeral Services, 1695 Diagonal Rd. Akron, Oh 44320. Funeral service will immediately follow. Interment Mount Peace Cemetery.
