Diane, transitioned to eternal peace on December 29, 2023, after bravely facing a prolonged illness. She was born on January 11, 1954, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Leonard Ingersoll Sr. and Gladys Ingersoll.
Diane was a proud graduate of Akron North High School and Akron Beauty School, where she honed her exceptional talent as a hair stylist. With a career spanning over two decades in the hair and beauty industry, she was not only a gifted stylist but also a mentor, notably perfecting the art of the Jheri Curl. Diane generously shared her expertise, teaching and inspiring fellow stylists throughout her illustrious career.
Her journey with the Lord began at a young age, and she lived her life to the fullest, finding joy in simple pleasures and cherishing moments with family and friends. Diane’s passion for arts and crafts, sewing, gardening, and singing reflected her vibrant and creative spirit. A nonconformist at heart, she embraced life on her terms, whether in her distinctive style, communication, or unapologetic personality.
Diane was preceded in death by her daughter, Qiana Ingersoll, her father, Leonard Ingersoll Sr., her grandparents, Archie and Sarah Davison, and her grandson, Marquis Sams.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories in the hearts of her devoted family: her loving son Deon Rodgers, devoted mother Gladys Ingersoll, sister Elise (Edward) McGhee, and brother Leonard Ingersoll Jr. Diane is also remembered by her eleven grandchildren: Shaquille Dawkins, Marquis Black, LaQuaisia Humphrey, Jaquest Ingersoll, Angelyca Rodgers, Deon Rodgers, Gladys Ingersoll, G’Mauryon Porter, Daveon, and Cozeana King. Additionally, she is survived by Eleven great-grandchildren, her dear friend William Phillips, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Diane’s absence will be keenly felt, but her spirit will endure in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. May she rest in eternal peace, and may her family find solace in the precious memories they shared with this remarkable woman.
