Sunset: January 6, 2025

Ralph Roebuck, Jr., affectionately known as “Myson,” entered this world on October 26, 1950, in Akron, Ohio, born to the loving union of Ralph Napoleon Roebuck and Elinor (Mack) Roebuck (Barnes). As the eldest of their children, Ralph was the answered prayer of his adoring mother, Elinor, who fondly gave him his cherished nickname.
Ralph received his early education in the Akron Public School System, attending Robinson Elementary School, Goodyear Junior High School, and graduating from East High School. Following his education, Ralph answered the call to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Navy.
After completing his service, Ralph married his first love, Marlyn Smith, the girl next door from Lucy Street. From their union, they were blessed with three children: Lisa, Tina, and Ralph III. Dedicated and hardworking, Ralph lent his talents to his father’s store, “Big Ralph’s,” before joining B.F. Goodrich, where he worked until its closure. He later found employment at Haze Lemmerick, where he remained until his retirement.
Life took Ralph on a journey of love and companionship. After changes in his life, he married Nadine Sammuels, sharing a beautiful and caring relationship until her passing. Later, Ralph found love and joy once again with Florence (Lewis). Together, they embraced life with youthful affection, attending their grandchildren’s events and enjoying each other’s company with exuberance and pride. Their participation in the Arlington Seniors group brought them great happiness.
Ralph’s passions included his love for sports, which he avidly followed, and his deep interest in history. He possessed an encyclopedic knowledge of local and historical events, particularly those connected to the Akron community and East Akron, where he was a proud and active Eastsider. Ralph was known for faithfully attending community meetings and gatherings, always engaged and supportive. He faithfully paid his respects at funerals of friends and neighbors, underscoring his deep sense of community and connection.
Ralph’s legacy is carried on by his loving family: three devoted sisters, Sandral (Governor) Roebuck, Sheila (Dennis) Franklin, and Patricia “Dolly” (Rev. Eric) Brown; his beloved children, Lisa K. Roebuck, Tina (Fernando) Rabb, and Ralph (Amber) Roebuck III; his cherished grandsons, Hunter, Christian, Emmanuel, and Kingston; his precious great-granddaughter, Abrielle J. West; nieces, Lydia, Ebony, Dawn, Sarah, Laila, Emila, Lillian, and Fallon; nephews, Dennis, Aaron, and Elijah; and a host of other dear family members, friends, and loved ones.
Ralph Roebuck, Jr. will be remembered as a devoted family man, a loyal friend, and a pillar of his community. He leaves behind a rich legacy of love, service, and cherished memories that will be held dear by all who were blessed to know him.
Friends may call Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Arlington Street Church of God 539 S Arlington St, Akron, OH 44306.  Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 pm.
