Reginald (Reggie) McCullars was called home on the evening of Friday, December 31st, 2021. He was born on Monday, October 12th, 1959 in Akron, Ohio to Lonney McCullars Sr. and the late Mamie F. McCullars of Akron, Ohio.
Reggie was a lifelong resident of Akron, and he attended Akron Public Schools and graduated from John R. Buchtel High School, class of 1978. Reggie participated in a host of activities during his high school years which included football, wrestling, and track & field. After
graduation, he later attended the University of Akron. Reggie furthered his skillset by acquiring numerous certifications in building maintenance, carpentry, environmental technology, and HVAC. He was also employed by the City of Akron.
Reggie was a son, brother, father, uncle, friend and so much more. He will be remembered most by his infectious laughter, generosity, bright personality, God-fearing spirit, and lovingly helpful
demeanor. Those who knew him to know that Reggie loved cooking, whether that was for gatherings indoors, outdoor festivities like Juneteenth Carnivals and Locke 3 for many years, fishing around Summit County, being active in his community and with his beloved church Zion Apostolic Faith Church. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and his K9-in-crime Biscuit. Reggie was truly a light to everyone he touched, always willing to help, never saying no, always knew the value of hard work, and was truly a one-of-a-kind soul! His presence will forever be missed.
Reggie was preceded in death by his mother, Mamie F. McCullars, brother, Calvin F. McCullars, and sister, Amber Dent of Georgia.
He leaves to celebrate his life, father, Lonney McCullars Sr., brother, Lonnie McCullars Jr., sister, Valerie McCullars, son, Jonathan Nigel Davis, nieces Quinita and Nicole McCullars, and a host of other relatives and friends.
