Rodney Blythe McCombs, Sr. (aka Rod Dog) was born on April 3, 1953 in Akron, Ohio to the late Ralph, Sr. and Elizabeth McCombs. God so graciously placed Rodney in His loving arms on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, to lift up his eyes in Paradise eternally.

Rodney was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother, Ralph D. McCombs, Jr. and his Nephew, Lacey Claxton. He leaves to treasure his memories his beloved children, Mateca Thornton of Akron, Ohio; Rodney B. McCombs, II, Danielle N. McCombs and Domonique M. McCombs all of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchild, Aaliyah Thornton of Akron, Ohio, expectant grandson, Jeziah Camarillo of Atlanta, Georgia and great grandson, Juelz Garrett of Akron, Ohio; siblings Loletta, Rolin (Dawn) and Ramonte (LaTonia) McCombs all of Akron, Ohio and Sherry (Charles) Kelly and Sharon McCombs-Niles of Monroe, Georgia.

In addition, he leaves his Nephews and Nieces, John (Janet) McCombs, Simone (John) Cox, Marcus (Regina) Steele, Cherise Crawford, DeShannon (Michael) Lewis, Newesii Crawford, Nicole Alexander, Devin (Ursula) Taylor, Rashan Alexander, Aubrey (Yukeana) Stallworth, Ramonte McCombs, Jr., Teon Stallworth, Deirdra Niles, Wendel Niles, Jr., Daneca Hampton, Virgil Williams, Tiana Hampton-Gray and Tremaine Gray; special friends, Sherry Alford, Hank Sykes and Woney Lee and a host of other relatives and friends.
Rodney retired from Acme Warehouse Teamsters Division in 2000 and was a 1971 graduate of Buchtel High School. Rodney had a kind heart and was loved by everyone he came in contact with. He will absolutely be deeply missed!
