Ronald Williams, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 24, 1955, in Montgomery, Alabama, Ronald was the cherished son of the late Dorothy and Joseph Williams. He was a twin to his brother Donald, who preceded him in death.
As a young child, Ronald and his family left the South in search of new opportunities, eventually settling in Cleveland, Ohio, after brief stays in Chicago, Illinois. It was in Cleveland where Ronald’s roots were firmly planted, and he thrived. He attended the Warrensville Heights City School system, forming the foundation of a lifetime of dedication, hard work, and care for others.
Ronald was a devoted and hardworking man. He worked at Brugger’s Bagels and the Embassy Suites Hotel.
On October 12, 1984, Ronald married the love of his life, Vickie Howlett. Together, they shared a beautiful 40-year marriage built on love, respect, and partnership. They raised two sons, Lamar and Jamar, instilling in them the same values that Ronald embodied every day.
Ronald’s family was the center of his life. He is survived by his devoted wife, Vickie; his sons, Lamar (Cynthia) Howlett of Mesa, Arizona, and Jamar (Alicia) Robertson of Akron, Ohio; and his cherished grandchildren, Robyn Ruby, Cianna, Alondra, Maya, Jamar Jr., and Leo. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren, David (DJ), Jeremia, Sophia, and Ryonna; his brother-in-law, Henry White Jr. of Fullerton, California; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Ronald’s legacy is one of love, family, and kindness. His gentle spirit, warm smile, and steadfast dedication to those he loved will never be forgotten. He touched the lives of everyone who knew him and leaves behind memories that will be cherished forever.
Ronald Williams will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 10:00 am at Sommerville Funeral Services, 1695 Diagonal Rd. Akron, Oh 44320.
