Steven Mark Allen, 57, passed away Monday, January 30, 2023.

Steve was born in Akron, Ohio on November 11, 1965. He was the middle child of six children, born to Mary Allen and the late John Allen Jr.

He attended Akron Public Schools and graduated from Firestone High School in 1985. After high school Steve worked as a cook in the restaurant industry in Akron. He loved to go out into the restaurants to ask if the customer’s enjoyed their meal, especially when he was trying a different recipe. Steve was also a good helper around the house. In his final years he moved to Columbus, Ohio, for a new start and career opportunity.

Steve accepted Christ at an early and attended New Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. He was the proud father of two wonderful young men, Steven and Stephon Allen. Later in life he married his life partner, Maria Watkins, of Akron.

He was a very loving and giving person that had a big heart and a sensational smile. He loved his family and his children. He would give his last to you and say “I’M GOOD”. He would tell you “I love you, don’t worry about me”. He is preceded in death by; wife, Maria Allen; father, John Allen Jr.; grandparents, Mary Jones, Ella B. Allen, Willie (Geeches) Milton.

Steve is survived by; his mother, Mary Allen; sons, Steven “Quent” Allen and Stephon Allen; brother’s, Eugene, Tyrone and John (Shernette Robinson) Allen; sisters, Sonya (Thomas) Manley, Yolanda (James) Drake, all of Akron, Ohio; grandchildren, Siyana, Carmelo, Sevyn, Stephone Jr.; best friend, Ernest Anderson; special friend, Mary Ann, and a host of nieces, nephews and many other loving relatives and friends.
