In Loving Memory Of

Teressa Greene

Sunrise: January 24, 1959
Sunset: March 29, 2024

Teressa Lynn Greene, affectionately known as ‘Audi ‘passed away after a long illness from Neuromyelitis Optica (NMO), on Friday, March 29, 2024. She was born in Akron, Ohio, on January 24, 1959, the first-born child, of Milton P.C. Jr. and Dora E. Greene.

A lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio, Teressa attended Akron Public Schools and graduated from John R. Buchtel high school in June 1977. After graduation Teresa attended Ohio State University and later transferred to the University of Akron where she earned her bachelor’s degree. She worked in various areas of the health care industry while she continued her education. The family always joked about Teressa being a “Lifetime student” but the joke was on them because the joke turned into her dream when she earned her master’s degree in health care administration and management.

Teressa was smart as a whip with the most beautiful, loving spirit. These qualities are why she was such a loving mother and grandmother to her three children, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Her ability to relate and be there for her family earned her the honored title of “sister mom”.

She chose to work in healthcare because of her passion for helping others that were in need. Teressa would feed, love, and help so many people with next to nothing. She was like the story of Jesus with the five loaves of bread and the two fish feeding hundreds or thousands. She was very frugal, creative and an excellent cook. Her magic and creativity in the kitchen were demonstrated when she made the most fantastic French Toast Sticks out of hot dog buns.

Teressa had a heart of pure gold. Her home was always full of friends and family. She often provided shelter for people in need, some of whom were strangers that would become family. She was very giving of everything she had, she would literally give you the shirt off her back if you needed it.

Teressa definitely knew the Lord. She grew up going to church with her mother, at Church of God Militant Pillar and Ground of Truth, under the direction of Mother Walker. She left there and attended Saints Temple under the ministry of Elder McKenzie, where she sang in the choir, drove the church van and helped with cooking for events. Later she attended Higher Ground church, under the ministry of Pastor William N. Bridges, III, where she and Sister Higginbottom enjoyed feeding the first family on Sundays. Her final church home was Celebration Church with Pastors Zach and Heather Prossor.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her three children, Kiya, Darice (Reesie), and Reuben; five grandchildren, Xaquira (Pooh-Pooh) JuVaughnte, Louis, Avery, and Carden; five great-grandchildren Armoni, Khy, Rickiyah, Jontae, and Ty’ran; sisters, Diana (Dee-Dee) and Leether Greene; brother, Milton P. C. Greene lll; nieces, Quiana, Joy (William), Markeeta (Kitty), Harmony, and Nadijah (special cousin / sister ) cause you know Aunt Tida won her in a card game); nephews, Dewahn(Tricia ) and Jvohnny; best friend, Tera Gibson; buddy, Jeffrey Greene; god-daughter, LaKenda Johnson; and a host of other family and friends.

She would tell you don’t cry or mourn too long for her she no longer feels pain. No tubes, no medicine, and she is walking again, sitting next to those who went before her; her father, Milton Jr and mother Dora; aunts, Leether and Christina. And most of all, she gets to sit next to her Heavenly Father.

Although she left us to soon, we will forever remember our Angel. Like the song says, loving you is easy because you are beautiful, can’t you hear her singing that high note?

Friends may call on Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Sommerville Funeral Services, 1695 Diagonal Road, Akron, Ohio 44320. Services will immediately follow.
